EE owners revive talks to float or sell

EE's owners Orange and Deutsche Telecom have revived talks regarding EE's flotation on the stock market or potential sale, according to reports.

The network's owners have looked into floating previously, in July 2013 Orange and Deutsche Telecom said they would be waiting until EE improved its financial performance before making a decision. Then in January 2014 they announced that they had 'agreed that the best option for value creation is to maintain the current ownership structure for the time being'.

The latest set of rumours could have been sparked by comments from Orange CFO Gervais Pellissier in June to Bloomberg when he said that EE UK CEO Olaf Swantee been asked to 'position EE either on dividend or return or growth' and that a decision on flotation would be made when the board returned from France's summer vacation.

EE declined to comment.
