Dixons Carphone has taken on former Phones 4u chief operating officer Nick Fisher as a consultant.
He will work alongside former Phones 4u chief marketing officer Scott Hooton, who, as Mobile revealed earlier this week, is also advising the retailer.
Both Hooton and Fisher will advise Dixons Carphone on changing 159 Phones 4u’s concessions within the retailer’s Currys/PC World megastores into Carphone Warehouse store-in-stores.
A spokeswoman told Mobile: ‘We are working with Scott and Nick on a consultancy basis to help our business through the transition of transforming the Phones 4U concessions within Currys PC World into Carphone Warehouse store within stores. We value the expertise that they bring to the team.’
Both former Phones 4u executives will bring a wealth of mobile retail experience to Dixons Carphone. Their advice will be key to Dixons Carphone mission to grab a major share of Phones 4u’s customers.
The retailer has accelerated the roll out of Carphone Warehouse store-in-stores, since the demise of Phones 4u, with plans to have opened 190 store-instores before Christmas.
By October next year Dixons Carphone plans to have a Carphone Warehouse store-within-store in 380 Currys/PC World megastores. The company will also add some of Phones 4u’s high street stores to its portfolio in key locations.
