‘2015 will be a tough year’: LG Predictions 2015

‘2015 will be a tough year for the market as consumers are thinking longer and harder about their monthly access costs and hardware investment. The trends for SIM only and SIM free will continue upwards as operators adapt to the decline in PAYG and online players become more prevalent in the market.

‘The Wearable segment will grow exponentially as companion products prove their value in delivering information in a more convenient way and price points move to a more mass market level. More apps are becoming available every day and user experiences are improving so there is little to hold back this new segment in the market.

‘LTE hardware prices will continue to decline as 4G coverage improves and uptake of the service increases. Video consumption will rise as a result therefore display sizes will increase to offer more compelling user experiences when consuming video on the go. Simply put, consumers should see much more value for their money in 2015 as competition in the hardware space increases with higher specified devices being available at rock bottom prices.’
