‘Shared plans on the up’: EE Predictions 2015

Noel Hamill, director of indirect partnerships, EE:

‘2015 will see trends that have emerged in 2014 really come to the fore. What are people going to be selling? In the consumer and small business space, Shared plans will be on the up, as often for connecting multiple devices to the same contract as for connecting multiple people. The small business channel will also see a rise in focus on business apps. And we’ll see a lean towards a system integrator approach, as companies look to buy joined up ICT services beyond mobile. In line with that, fixed mobile convergence should start to become a reality in 2015, with mobile PBX services reaching maturity and starting to really show the value they’ve promised for so long. Connectivity is still the key – that’s not going to change – but next year will see more emphasis than ever on connecting everything – this isn’t just the consumer space with wearables and the like, but also wireless security, wireless care solutions and smart offices. And one thing that definitely won’t change from 2014 is the importance of network quality in the eyes of customers – more than ever, people need a high performance, highly reliable mobile network, and that will continue to drive customer decisions.’
