O2 thinks pink with E900
O2 has scored an exclusive pink version of Samsung’s hugely popular E900 slider. The network will sell it exclusively up until the end of December and hopes it will be on sale from early October.
The pink handset will only be available through O2’s stores and website and through direct upgrades done over the phone. It won’t be offered through other retailers who sell the network.
Massive sales wiped out stocks of Samsung’s original black version earlier this year and some retailers are still reporting shortages of the handset however O2 said there should be no shortages of the pink E900. An O2 spokeswoman said: ‘I’ve been assured we should be able to avoid any stock shortages because all available units are ours for the time being.’
Pink mobile phones have racked up huge sales in the past. Motorola’s pink V3 was one of the biggest sellers of 2005 and The Carphone Warehouse’s exclusive saw it sell an estimated 50,000 units per week.
