Samsung Electronics has announced a number of partnerships with fashion designers and brands as part of its ‘Rich Accessory Collection’ for the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge handsets.
The manufacturer explained that the partners had been chosen because they ‘share Samsung’s goal of authentically merging fashion and technology through accessories’.
Speaking at the announcement the brand’s executive vice president of global marketing, IT & mobile division at Samsung Electronics, Younghee Lee, who previously worked at L’Oréal spoke the importance of partnerships as the firm attempt to bridge the divide between fashion and tech: ‘Samsung has a long history of designer partnerships and an unparalleled understanding of how technology enhances fashion and how fashion inspires technology.
‘The premium accessory collection for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge represents our commitment to uniting the worlds of fashion and technology.
‘Samsung has and will continue to pursue and create innovative, meaningful collaborations with the fashion industry that resonate with the ever-evolving consumer and provide them with essential tools for self-expression.’
The manufacturer said that collections were a product of the ‘Designed for Samsung Program’ an initiative designed to open up the number of potential accessories collaborators on new products.
The brands and designers announced by Samsung included; Burton, Swarovski, Montblanc, Rebecca Minkoff and Romero Britto.
