Huawei has announced Vincent Pang as its new Western Europe president. Pang will oversee business development and management within the region, he replaces Kevin Tao after four year in the role.
With Western Europe seen as a key strategic market for Huawei, Pang’s role involves marketing, sales and business operations within the region, as well as taking charge of over 6,300 employees within Western Europe. Pang will work to further long-term relationships with local partners, continuing to create further value for customers
Eric Xu, Huawei’s deputy chairman and rotating CEO, said: ‘Vincent Pang has accumulated extensive experience in this market. I have every confidence that, after taking office, he will lead the team to continue creating more value for customers with our local partners.
‘As we stand together at the threshold of a new digital age, our next steps will be decisive in shaping our common, connected future.’
The appointment comes as Huawei launched its 2015 Global Connectivity Index, benchmarking economies in terms of digital transformation. Countries within Huawei’s Western European market, such as Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, ranked within the top five economies that are best poised for development and growth within the digital market.
