Talk Talk launches ultra competitive ‘All-in SIM’

TalkTalk claims it now offers ‘Britain’s lowest priced unlimited SIM-only plan.’

The quad play firm has launched an unlimited minutes, texts and data 30-day rolling plan for a £12 a month. The deal is tied to the brand’s unlimited broadband package with the cost rising to £24 a month should the customer cancel Talk Talk broadband and is available until the end of June.

Tristia Harrison, TalkTalk’s managing director for consumer, said: ‘We’re revolutionising mobile with our new unlimited SIM. We’ve successfully driven down the average cost of broadband and TV packages in Britain, giving millions of families more for their money. Now we’re doing the same for mobile.

‘Savvy shoppers are realising that a separate mobile package costs significantly more than taking it together with their broadband and TV. And our great value All-in mobile SIM isn’t just for people streaming and downloading day in day out. For those simply after the best price, this is an unbeatable deal.’

TalkTalk said it had seen its mobile unit grow recently with the brand saying it had taken a 13% market share of new SIM-only connections in March.

Reacting to the news Ernest Doku of uSwitch said that he expected the offer to be disruptive: ’Combining the freedom of a 30-day rolling contract with an unlimited data allowance at the all-important sub-£15 price point makes TalkTalk’s new offer hugely compelling, and is likely to cause real disruption to the bigger players.

‘The appeal of unlimited of data – despite being ‘only’ 3G – will be integral to the rapid take-up of TalkTalk’s new offering, as mobile users are more data hungry than ever.

‘The all-important offering of generous data caps – or none at all – was a key contributor to Virgin Media’s rapid growth as a mobile player. It will no doubt also benefit TalkTalk, although limiting the service to their relatively small existing customer-base is a constricting factor.’
