Compare The Market moves into mobile

Compare The Market has launched a mobile phone comparison service, as part of its move into the mobile market.

The comparison website will now allow customers to compare ‘unique and competitive’ mobile phone tariffs. Compare The Market claim they will be negotiating regular, exclusive deals with the mobile networks, and will offer deals not available anywhere else. They are initially offering the Samsung S6 Edge and Apple iPhone 6, at a lower monthly fee, with Vodafone.

Compare The Market will be looking to cater to the Orange Wednesday crowd with its ‘Meerkat Movies’ offer, which will offer mobile customers 2 for 1 cinema tickets. The offer, valid for one year to use on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, will see Compare The Market take over the successful marketing campaign that EE chose not to renew.

James Padmore, Head of Utilities at said: ‘Most mobile customers roll on to new contracts with their existing suppliers without realising that better deals may be available elsewhere, even on the same network.

‘There are so many phone deals available that comparing them can be difficult and confusing. By using our platform, we hope to help consumers make informed decisions quickly and simply which can save them money, not only on the latest handset, but also choose the tariff that best matches their usage. Being then able to join ‘Meerkat Movies’, which potentially saves around a further £350 a year on trips to the cinema, is an added bonus!”
