Tesco considers sale of MVNO

Tesco is preparing to sell off its mobile business, according to reports.

Tesco Mobile is rumoured to be in talks to sell its MVNO to cut a £22bn debt, with TalkTalk and O2 seen as potential acquirers of the business.

The drive to cut costs started at the beginning of the year when Tesco sold off non-core business assets BlinkBox and Tesco broadband to TalkTalk.

Tesco recently reported pre-tax losses of £6.4bn, with chief executive Dave Lewis under pressure to further cut costs.
