Dixons Carphone’s iD has been announced as the first client within a new partnership between Tech Mahindra and MDS.
The two companies will oversee the customer management infrastructure of the new Dixons Carphone MVNO, which was launched in April. Tech Mahindra will implement MDS’ new billing solution and manage the MVNO’s entire services infrastructure.
The MVNO will aim to resolve customer frustrations with Dixons Carphone stating the alliance will allow it to offer users greater flexibility with their mobile devices. Aman Bhachu, UK General Manager, Customer Solutions and Connectivity at Dixons Carphone, said: ‘Working with Tech Mahindra and MDS gives us the opportunity to build exciting new propositions for customers that will be different to what other UK networks currently offer. We know that people are looking for greater flexibility and control to run their mobile devices on their terms.’
MDS has stated that the joint alliance will help give Dixons Carphone a ‘unique advantage over its competitors’, with Tech Mahindra specialising in telecom systems integration and MDS able to give the service provider ways to differentiate an MVNO offering.
Mark Edwards, CEO at MDS, said: ‘Tech Mahindra and MDS will enable Dixons Carphone to fundamentally change the nature of the relationship with customers with their differentiated proposition. We view this at the first amongst many joint wins in our strategic alliance.’
