Carphone moves into music
The Carphone Warehouse has unveiled an online music download service. offers customers a choice of over 2.5million tracks. Users can download individual tracks from 79p by dragging and dropping music from the web page to a shopping basket at the bottom of the screen.

The service, which requires no additional software, is compatible with MP3 players from most manufacturers as well as a range of mobile phones that support Windows Media Audio (WMA).

The service also includes Music Insurance, which replaces customers' downloaded music library if their computer or MP3 player is damaged or stolen. Other features include a music news service, featured playlists and background information on artists and songs.

Carphone's online director, Andy Brown, said: 'This is a fantastic addition to the range of 'MyMobile' offerings. Mobile phones can now store thousands of tracks and offers the perfect way to manage your music.'
