Z560 makes its debut
Samsung has launched a slimline HSDPA phone with the Z560, allowing download speeds up to three times faster than 3G.
The clamshell handset is 16mm thin and comes with a two-megapixel camera with auto-focus, 30MB of internal memory and room for a memory card. It also features an MP3 function and has external music keys. Its HSDPA connectivity is a boon for operators, who are hoping that the 1.8Mb per second download speeds will help boost content downloads and data usage.
The handset is already available in France and Germany and will be released throughout other European countries shortly.
Samsung's Z560 is one of the first HSDPA handsets to be confirmed for the European market. Motorola's forthcoming RAZR V3maxx and V3xx both feature the high-speed connectivity, as does BenQ-Siemens' EF91 clamshell.
