Renowned industry figure Sam Tyrer will depart her role as retail and services director for Dixons Carphone. She spoke of her affection for the industry on her departure, saying: ‘I've loved every minute of my eight years in the mobile industry, and it's not hard to understand why that is. It's an industry jam-packed full of incredibly positive, entrepreneurial, talented and driven people all backed up with some amazing products.
‘I leave feeling immensely proud of my team, especially our branch managers and our superb colleagues who've been on an incredible journey with me over the past two years to understand how to deliver an amazing customer experience and really personalise a handset and tariff with the help of Pinpoint.
‘I know the Dixons Carphone business will go on to have an even more brilliant future; the new business believes deeply in putting both customers and colleagues at its heart and Seb and Katie are both exceptional leaders. I wish the very talented team all the best and will be watching with excitement as the new brand grows and develops in a very exciting market.’
Dixons Carphone confirmed that Alan Ritchie will replace Tyrer in her role:'After 8 years in the mobile industry, Sam Tyrer has decided to leave Dixons Carphone. Sam has been a valuable member of the leadership team, most recently leading the successful roll-out of Pin Point across the retail estate.
'We are sorry to see her go and wish her the best of luck in the future. We can confirm that Alan Ritchie will now lead the unit as Retail and Services MD, UK and Ireland for the combined business.'
