Dell launches new unified comms platform to channel investment

Dell Software has launched the latest version of its Unified Comms Command Suite to aggregate usage, trends and adoption data across multiple platforms.

The suite consists of Office 365, Lync/Skype for Business and Cisco UC Manager and enables users to intensify usage trends across these platforms, using analytics reporting.

Dell explained that this will help companies identify which platforms are being used and for what purposes. The company believes that with more companies investing in unified comms, the feature will ‘help businesses increase investment and eliminate platforms not being used’.

Speaking to Mobile, Curtis Johnstone, senior product architect and Microsoft Lync MVP, Dell Software, explained that the new platform will be a ‘single source of truth’.

He claimed that by being able to analyse cross-programme usage through one channel, companies will be able to make better business decision.

He said: ‘The platform really opens the enterprises eyes up to knowing what is being used so they can invest more and decommission what’s not being used. The big trend is that more than ever there are multiple communication features for end users so it’s more important than ever that companies have appropriate tools to maximise their investment. Our solution helps make sure the enterprise gets the best return on investment from the money and effort it has spent.’
