Motorola beefs up distribution options with Brightstar deal

Brightstar has completed a distribution deal with Motorola to stock the manufacturer's full of devices and accessories, Mobile understands.

Tech Data Mobile had been the exclusive supplier of Motorola products, but it appears the Lenovo-owned firm decided beef up its distribution options and add Brightstar for its latest handset launch.

Motorola launched three phones last week all aimed at the mid to low end of the mobile market. The brand is hoping the latest set of handsets receive the same critical acclaim as the previous Moto G handset which was highly praised by reviewers.

In July, Motorola changed its UK general manager head bringing in Miles Norman to replace Nick Muir. Before taking the job at Motorola Norman was the head of telco at Lenovo – Motorola’s parent company – for two years. Norman also worked for Motorola Mobility from 2003 to 2009 before moving to a senior role at HP.

A Motorola spokeperson commented: 'Motorola has entered into a distribution partnership with Brightstar and we are looking forward to building a strong working relationship.'
