O2 launches Cocoon handset
O2 has unveiled a new music handset called the O2 Cocoon this week.
The Cocoon white clamshell can store up to 1,000 songs and has an LED display. The blue display can be programmed to show time, ‘now playing’ information, caller ID and also displays the beginning of text messages as they arrive in the user’s inbox.
The Cocoon follows the O2 Ice and is also made by Pantech. The Cocoon is compatible with a wide range of file formats, has 2GB of built-in flash memory and the opportunity to add a further 2GB on a microSD card.
The handset has stereo speakers and can connect wirelessly to Bluetooth-enabled speakers or headphones.
It comes with a two-megapixel camera, complete with auto-focus, 4x digital zoom, built-in flash and full screen viewfinder. It also has a high quality, ultra-bright QVGA (240x320-pixel) screen with 262,000 colour pixels. The Cocoon will be on sale in O2 stores and online from August.
