Ultra series reaches Europe
Samsung's Ultra-range of slimline handsets will reach the UK later this month.
The manufacturer's 6.9mm thin X820 clamshell is the first device to hit retail and is expected to arrive by mid-July. The 12.9mm D900 slider and 9.9mm D830 clamshell will follow at the end of the month.
Despite their diminutive size, all three handsets carry impressive specifications. The X820 and D830 both feature 2 megapixel cameras, onboard music players and 80MB of internal memory. The D900 features a 3 megapixel camera and a 240x320 pixel screen. Samsung claims the X820 is the 'world's thinnest phone' while the D900 has been labelled the 'world's thinnest slider'.
It is not known if Samsung will keep the Ultra sub-brand for the handsets once they reach the UK market. All three phones are expected to take centre stage in Samsung's handset lineup for the second half of 2006.
