Tech Data Mobile will partner with new Android vendors as b2b demand for Android devices led to a surge in sales.
The distributor has reported a rapid uptake of Samsung Galaxy Edge 6 and Edge+ devices, as well as Motorola’s Moto G and X Play handsets.
This surge in demand has led Tech Data Mobile to focus its investment in Android. The distributor announced it will look to add a host of Android solutions partners by the end of the year to give mobile resellers ‘new opportunities in new markets’.
In order to deliver this support to resellers, the distributor has announced the appointment of an Android business development manager to work with vendor partners Samsung and Motorola.
Announcing the proposal as part of the distributor’s strategic plan for 2015, David Brassington, vendor director at Tech Data Mobile, said: ‘We have built-up a real head of steam with our Android partners and this appointment is further evidence of our commitment and determination to continue that momentum.
‘We are executing on our strategic plan for 2015. The next phase [of our plans] will see us bringing new and complementary vendor partners on board. This will allow Tech Data Mobile to position ourselves at the forefront of technological innovation, reaching further into the market and offering even more choice and opportunity to more resellers and dealers in all sectors of the market.’
Brassington concluded: ‘Android devices are very well-suited to both personal and business use and we are seeing strong sales growth across all sectors.
'Furthermore Google remains a key strategic partner for Tech Data and focusing our resources on Android to complement the wider Google ecosystem of products and services we offer is key. We feel there is more potential to exploit with Android devices.’
