New Ultra phones
Samsung has announced the next generation in its Ultra range of phones.
The manufacturer unveiled three new models; the F300, F500 and i600, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week.
Each phone is developed around a specialist focus. The F300 is labelled ‘Ultra Music’, the F500 ‘Ultra Video’ and the i600 ‘Ultra Messaging’.
The F300 has a dual face. One side is dedicated to phone controls, the other to music ones. In addition it features a 2 megapixel camera, 100MB internal memory and a microSC card, and EDGE technology for fast downloading.
The F500 is a 3G enabled handset with 400 MB of internal memory and a microSD card, that can receive digital TV transmissions using DVB-H standard. Its unique design allows the top two thirds of the handset to swivel away from the bottom third, so that it can be rested on a flat surface to resemble a miniture TV. The F500 has a 2 megapixel camera and is 3G enabled.
The i600 is the successor to the i320 device. It has a full QWERTY keyboard, supports Windows Mobile version 5 and has built in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. It also features expandable memory and a 1.3 megapixel camera.
All three handsets are due imminently in the United States, but are not expected to arrive in the UK until Q3 2007.
