Samsung unveils wearables pop-up in latest retail push

Samsung has launched a wearables pop-up experience to introduce UK customers to its latest smartwatch.

The manufacturer has opened an experimental pop-up in Westfield White City in London, aimed at showcasing the manufacturer’s Gear S2 smartwatch to consumers, as well as unveiling devices new to the UK market.

Samsung explained that it’s eager to show customers how the wearable can fit into everyday life. The manufacturer explained it will also use the studio to test Samsung Pay in the UK for the first time, enabling visitors to try out the payments service using the Gear S2. Samsung Pay has already got off to a successful start in South Korea, with UK launch dates yet to be announced.

Chong-Won Lim, Head of Product Marketing, IT & Mobile Division, Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, said: ‘The Gear S2 is a landmark smartwatch for us – combining a stunning design with market leading technology and we want to show people just how much we think this device will enhance their everyday lives.’

The studio will be open for 12 days from October 23, with visitors able to try the Gear S2, Samsung’s latest VR device, as well as the manufacturers latest Galaxy S6 and S6 edge+ range.
