First look: E90
Dealers praised Nokia's highly anticipated business device, the E90 Communicator, at the Nokia Academy meeting in London last week. The device comes with HSDPA, integrated GPS, a 3.2-megapixel camera, expandable memory and quad-band capabilities. It is a an S60 bar device with a normal keypad, but folds open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard and large screen.
Nick Oldham, from Surrey Car Telecoms, has found the phone has been in demand prior to its release. 'I've taken a lot of pre-orders,' he said.
Tom Walklate from Ecocall said: 'If you're looking for a PDA, it's definitely going to rival BlackBerry.' He added: 'It's a sleek phone. I like the navigating system. Business users will find it ideal for Excel and the internet.' His colleague Lisa Wilkinson said the phone was bulky, but was a good business phone. 'There's not an awful lot it doesn't do.'
The large internal screen displays a regular web browser that users would normally see on a PC. Jay Andolini of Mobiles.co.uk said: 'The Nokia Maps feature works really well on a large screen and it's the best web browser I've seen apart from the N800.'
Nokia retail operations manager Andrew Barber said it is shipping imminently and would be available shortly.
