HTC won’t lose the muse
HTC has denied rumours that it is to drop its forthcoming Muse handset.
According to various reports the manufacturer had been planning to pull the plug on the 3G music device, details of which are still sketchy. However a spokesman at HTC has confirmed the Muse is still on the HTC roadmap for the rest of this year.
'We can't talk about specifics until devices are officially launched, but there are lots of exciting developments on the way, of which the Muse is just one', he told Mobile.
It is believed the Muse will be a 3G slider phone, a design first for HTC whose previous handsets have been bar, clamshell and PDA style devices. It is expected to be marketed at music lovers, with an MP3 player, integrated stereo speakers and an FM radio, as well as a 2 megapixel camera.
HTC would not confirm pricing details or a launch date for the device. Its handsets are often snapped up and rebranded by Orange, although the operator could not confirm whether it had plans to sell the Muse device when it arrives.
