Exclusive: Mobiles.co.uk managing director Bobbie Bhogal moves on
Bobbie Bhogal will step down as managing director of Mobiles.co.uk, Dixons Carphone has con?rmed to Mobile. Bhogal will leave his position after spending two-and-a-half years heading up the online mobile phone shop after it was acquired by Carphone Warehouse in 2007. However, Mobile understands he will continue to lead Mobiles4everyone, a company he founded nine years ago.
Speaking to Mobile, Bhogal said: ‘I felt I needed to give my own business more time so I cut short my three-year deal with Dixons Carphone. They were ?ne about it as the stuff I came to do, I did in two years instead of three.’ Bhogal has previously held positions at Vodafone UK, as well as a number of senior roles in companies outside the mobile industry.
However, the entrepreneur is known for founding online mobile shop E2Save, building the company into a £60m business before selling it to Carphone Warehouse owner Sir Charles Dunstone in 2006. Dixons Carphone con?rmed Bhogal’s departure, stating that a replacement would be appointed in due course and declined the opportunity to comment further.
