O2 will include Samsung, Sony and HTC flagship devices in a Black Friday price crash that will see customers ‘pick the price’.
The price crash will see the prices of over 70 pay monthly and pay and you go products tumble throughout the course of the day. When the price reaches a level that the customer wants to pay, the user can then stop the crash and immediately purchase the item. As stock sells out new products will be added to the price crash with no reserve prices to be added onto the devices.
O2’s price crash roster will include flagship devices from Samsung, Sony and HTC, alongside Apple tablets and a range of smartwatches, fitness devices and accessories.
While O2 will continue to offer 50% reductions across a host of other handsets, the additional price crash sees the network take a different approach from rival Three, who have slashed the prices of Samsung’s flagship devices and offered 20% off accessories. EE will also offer 10% off a range off selected tablets and wearables.
Nina Bibby, O2’s Marketing and Consumer Director, explained that the deal marks this first time O2 has offered its customers this kind of sale. She said: ‘This Black Friday we’re giving customers some great deals on tech including, for the first time, the opportunity to set their price through Price Crash, our playful innovation in online shopping. Our deals and discounts offer the perfect opportunity to keep up to date with all the latest technology, from smart phones to smart watches.’
Argos, Amazon and Dixons Carphone will also offer cut market prices on a range of products, with the retailer recently attributing an 8% Christmas revenue boost to Black Friday sales.
O2’s Black Friday sale will start at 9pm Thursday 26 November
