Samsung UK mobile head: We constantly examine the structure

Samsung’s UK mobile boss Conor Pierce has said the business will constantly examine its structure as the UK market continues to change.

‘Any company that sits on its laurels won’t be as competitive as it should be, so constantly Samsung is looking at how it is structured.’ Pierce told Mobile ‘a good example is how we’re heavily investing in our B2B structure and our organisation. The market is certainly not the market it was 2 or 3 years ago and we pivot to make sure we’re fit for purpose.’

‘We’re very proud of the team we have within Samsung, within my business, and that they’ve delivered some phenomenal results. That’s not just based on the work they’ve done this year, it comes from innovation, as well as really deep collaboration and partnerships with our operator, distribution and retail partners. And that’s why we’ve had a very successful year in turning the Samsung business around.’

Manufacturer changes

This quarter has seen a number of changes at the major manufacturers to varying degrees over the last couple of months.

Back in October HTC announced changes which saw its European business units split in two. October also saw Sony Mobile let a number of senior figures leave as part of a significant structural changes within the business.
