Jasper has predicted 2016 changes in the IoT market as demand shifts from devices to services.
Speaking to Mobile, Macario Namie, VP Strategy, said: ‘2016 will be the year the industry stops focusing on the things of IoT but instead starts tracking the variety of new services enabled by those connected devices. The important thing is the focus shift from simply counting the billions of ‘things’ to the benefits being provided to end users.’
Jasper uses its IoT platform to provide companies with what it describes as the ‘building blocks’ needed to enter the market, providing a one stop solution for business.
According to Namie, 2015 was the year in which IoT platforms gained b2b popularity, predicting that 2016 will now see businesses place greater demand on how to make the most of IoT solutions.
‘2015 was the year a light was shone on the ‘IoT platform’ category,’ he said. ‘In 2016 business savvy enterprises will now demand accuracy and accountability, resulting in clearer definitions from IoT solution providers.
‘Companies will need to articulate exactly what their IoT solution enables — whether that’s IoT application enablement, service lifecycle management, analytics, etc. — and clearly demonstrate how they make it easier for enterprises to launch, manage and monetize IoT.’
