First look at the N95
Weeks ahead of its scheduled release date, Mobile has tracked down a dealer who has already tried out the much anticipated N95.
The south-west London dealer describes the handset as ‘the daddy of all cameraphones’.
‘It’s built exactly like a camera, when you turn it horizontally to take a picture you may as well be holding a proper camera’, he said.
The N95 has dedicated keys on the front for camera features including the zoom and shot review. The dealer reports that the flash is not quite as strong as that on the new Sony Ericsson K810i Cyber-shot handset, but that overall, the quality of the camera is better.
The battery life, he reports, was strong after 24 hours of heavy use, and he expects will easily last for several days with moderate use.
It will be supplied with a 164MB memory card, Mobile understands, to compliment the 160MB of internal memory.
The casing is almost identical to that of the Nokia N80. It’s slightly bigger than its predecessor, but is 6mm slimmer at 20mm.
‘This is one item that does virtually everything. The only thing I could possibly think of them adding is a touchscreen’, concluded the dealer.
The N95 is expected to hit the market early next month
