Truphone has appointed Ralph Steffens CEO as part of senior changes at the international network operator.
The move will see former boss Steve Robertson will take on the role of executive chairman and CEO of strategic partnerships.
Truphone said that the two executives would be working together on the firm’s ‘strategic direction’, ‘growing international reach’ and ‘improving service offering to its customers’.
Back in April, Truphone explained to Mobile the new ways in which it was seeking to monetise its network.
20 years’ experience
Steffens joins Truphone with a wealth of experience in different areas of the mobile market. Most recently he was president and chief operating officer at Indian telecoms firm Jio Infocom. Steffens has also held positions at BT and Colt Telecom.
Speaking following his changing of roles at the operator Robertson said: ‘We are delighted to welcome on board Ralph, whose experience of the telecoms industry, which spans nearly two decades, can help us take Truphone to the next level, cementing our position as the first truly global mobile network.
‘His knowledge and experience of working in many countries across Europe and Asia-Pacific will prove invaluable to the company. I am also excited about focussing my attention on our partnership business, enabling me to develop relations with our existing and prospective partners.’
