Roaming MVNO Anywhere Sim lands council contract

Anywhere Sim has agreed a deal to provide mobile services to 4,500 Norfolk County Council users.

The deal which was agreed through Updata sees the Council make use of the MVNO’s roaming SIM which switches between networks depending on which one has the strongest signal.

Speaking as the brand confirmed the deal Matthew Wright, CEO at Anywhere Sim, said: ‘Since we launched in late 2015 we have seen enormous demand for our solution to the ongoing ‘not spot' problem.   Initially this was from consumers but the proposition has quickly transcended into commerce and most recently the public sector - where the direct benefits are particularly big.

The majority of UK councils and local government will be fully aware of the issues presented by gaps in mobile signal and the impact this can have on the provision of important local services.  This issue is pan-UK and applies to both urban and rural areas, especially with regard to lone workers.’

Target markets

This is the second significant partnership that Anywhere Sim has announced since its launch. In December, the business partnered with Doro to bundle its handset with the roaming SIM. A move which Anywhere Sim described as ‘playing to the strengths of both companies’.
