Samsung to launch upgrade scheme, say Korean reports
Samsung are examining the possibility of introducing a phone upgrade scheme, according to reports in the manufacturer’s home market of Korea.
The brand could be set to follow in the footsteps of bitter rival Apple who announced in the autumn that they would be launching an upgrade program in the US.
The Californian brand’s scheme allows customers to pay for a new SIM free iPhone on a monthly basis by agreeing a contract with direct with Apple. This deal allows users to upgrade yearly by buying direct through the manufacturer rather than going through a network.
Electronic Times suggested that the manufacturer would start the upgrade scheme with the launch of its Galaxy S7 device launches in Korea.
