Exclusive: Honor’s UK head Nicola Philbin departs
Honor’s UK head Nicola Philbin has left the business after just six months in charge.
In September, Philbin was at the helm as the brand launched its Honor 7 handset, sold exclusively
through online channels and Three retail stores. The manufacturer is now poised to launch its latest handset, the new Honor 5x on 4 February.
Philbin had worked within the Huawei business for more than 10 years prior to her taking on her role at Honor. She was previously Huawei’s UK and Ireland GM of devices, before moving on to be head of Huawei Devices’ global account for Hutchinson Whampoa.
In a statement on her departure, Huawei said: ‘Nicola Philbin returned to the UK to support the Honor Business Unit in the UK and Ireland. Her role was to implement a strategy and penetrate new market segments.
'Following the successful delivery of this strategy, and after more than a decade with Huawei, she is moving on to embrace new opportunities in the market. We would to thank her for all her hard work for Huawei and Honor over the past 10 years and we wish her well in her next challenge. ‘
