BT poised to complete EE takeover

BT is expected to complete its £12.5bn takeover of EE with the deals papers set to be signed today [29/01/2016].

The deal has been waved through by regulators with final approval on the deal granted by the Competition and Market’s Authority this month. Despite the objections of a number of industry organisations.

Departures upon completion

EE has confirmed that current CFO Neil Milson will step down upon the competition of the deal. Milson who worked at Orange before joining EE in 2011 has been credited with raising £2bn in external funds which allowed the newly formed business to develop its brand and take a lead in developing 4G infrastructure.

At the start of the year EE revealed that its current CEO Olaf Swantee would be stepping down from his position at the head of the business upon the completion of the deal. He is set to be replaced by COO Mark Allera at the head of the new business.
