Orange has secured a handful of colour exclusives for the Christmas quarter, with pink the main hue on offer.
The network will sell the LG Shine, Samsung F210 and Sony Ericsson W580i and W200i in pink. It has also lined up a purple version of the Samsung U600 and red versions of Sony Ericsson's W910i and K510i. Each device will be available on both prepay and contract, apart from the W910i, which will only be sold on contract. Orange device director Francois Mahieu said: 'There is a massive demand in November and December for the pay-as-you-go market. This is where our focus is.'
The pink W580i was released earlier this month and the pink LG Shine is due for a mid-September launch. The purple U600 will be available towards the end of this month. Mahieu said: 'We believe this is the new kind of pink.' Meanwhile the red W910i is expected to hit Orange stores in the second week of October.
Orange had success with its exclusive pink Samsung Blush phone last year and is hoping to repeat its success with its new colour range. 'Last year, we had just under 15% of our devices being colour specific. This year, we are looking at a quarter of our range of devices being non-silver or non-black,' Mahieu said.
The colour variants are exclusive to Orange up until the end of the year and Orange is in negotiations to extend the exclusives beyond that time.
