Three has extended its Discovery programme to launch new spaces in Islington and Swansea.
The roll-out of new Discovery spaces will be aimed at helping consumers feel more comfortable with new technology and get more out of their devices. The expansion is set to continue from April, with sessions to launch in 50 stores across the UK.
The two newly launched spaces, open seven days a week, will be manned by ‘Discovery Partners’ who will specifically help visitors develop digital skills.
The network explained that free sessions will be available to all ages, regardless of whether they are a Three customer, and will cover online security, using smartphone apps and social media.
Three explained that the expansion follows on from the success of the programme launch last year. The mobile network claimed that 619 Discovery sessions were run at the pilot space in Maidenhead, with over 2400 people attending.
According to Jessica Tompkinson, community engagement and discovery manager at Three, the initiative makes the network stand out on the high-street. She said: ‘Discovery is a true one off – there’s nothing else quite like it available to the British public, or on the High Street. We look to make every session different and provide a genuinely helpful, free-of-charge service for visitors.’
