Huawei has added the P9 Lite to its latest flagship range.
The new low cost handset will join the P9 and P9 Plus, which launched at a high profile event in London last month. Retailing at £239, the P9 Lite will look to rival Apple’s iPhone SE, which was unveiled earlier this year to target the lower end of the mobile market.
Similarly to the P9 and P9 Plus, the P9 Lite will focus on smartphone photography. This continues Huawei drive to make money by developing quality user experiences.
This change in strategy was first announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress. Speaking at the time, the manufacturer said that the advent of 4G was shifting network investment towards experiences.
Commenting on the P9 Lite launch, Rhys Saunders, sales director, Huawei UK&I Consumer BG, said: ‘With the P9 smartphone family, Huawei are offering users a superior smartphone experience.
‘The latest edition to the family, the P9 Lite, with its lower price point, is no exception to this. The phone has a premium and stylish look and feel, a high-resolution rear and front camera, as well as a powerful battery, making this a perfect companion for budding photographers on the go.’
Huawei’s latest device will be available from EE, O2, Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse, with the device to go on sale from the end of May.
