MIA 2016 Network: EE’s three in a row, O2’s b2b boost

EE has won the Best Consumer Network for the third year in a row at this year’s Mobile Industry Awards.


The superiority of the operator’s network was the defining factor in the win, enabling EE to offer a more complete service than any of its competitors. The brand’s efforts in converting customers to 4G was also commended by the judges.  

 
However, the UK’s largest network was pipped to the post in the Best Business Network category which was won by O2. The Telefonica owned brand impressed judges with their innovative range of products and services for business customers of all sizes. It was a night when O2’s B2B division was well represented by its partners with a number of them nominated across in the Best Franchise and Best Unified Comms Dealer categories.  


The hotly contested Best MVNO prize was won by Tesco Mobile for the second year in a row. The supermarket’s virtual network built on a strong performance in 2015 impressing the judges with excellent financials and unbeatable customer satisfaction scores.


In order to recognise the number of new MVNO’s that have launched in the past year Mobile decided to introduce the Hottest New MVNO category. iD made a strong case with its international roaming and 12 month contract offers. However, the inaugural crown was won by BT Mobile who demonstrated innovation across the board from the use of BT WiFi hotspots, marketing campaigns and impressive customer additions.
