EE hit by roaming and data outages
EE has suffered widespread outages across its roaming and data services.
The network has confirmed that customers travelling across Europe were affected. A number of O2 customers have taken to social media to vent frustrations, claiming they were unable to make phone calls, send texts or access the internet.
The outage marks the second time this year EE customers have been affected by network problems after EE and O2 suffered technical difficulties in January, the cause of which failed to be determined.
A network spokesperson said: ‘We're aware that some EE customers travelling abroad are experiencing issues getting connected to roaming services. We apologise to any customers affected, and we are continuing to urgently work with our roaming network partners to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
‘Customers can try restarting their device or turning flight mode on and off as that has restored service for a number of customers and may help to resolve the problem. Any customers who are affected should contact customer service when they can and we’ll make sure they’re not out of pocket.’?
