Honor has appointed a new European head to boost its brand presence in the region.
Eva Wimmers will take on the top job, overseeing regional operations as president of Honor in Europe. She will also take on the role of vice president of Honor Global.
The news marks the latest executive change for the business after Honor’s UK head, Nicola Philbin left the brand after six months in charge.
Wimmers brings with her 20 years’ experience with major telecom firms such as T-Mobile. This is something the Huawei owner smartphone brand will look to take advantage of with George Zhao, President of Honor, confident she can take the business ‘to the next level’.
He commented: ‘With Eva’s experience onboard, we will take the Honor brand and products to the next level in the European market. Wimmers has a proven track record of driving effective change within large and small international businesses and is an expert in building European and global trends, brands and partnerships.’
The business has seen strong growth across the region over the last year with Huawei’s Q3 2015 results revealing shipments to the region saw a year on year increase of 98%. The Chinese manufacturer also claimed that the new Honor 7 device sold out across Europe in one day.
