CurrysPCWorld has predicted a major smart tech sales boom this Christmas.
The Dixons Carphone owned brand compiled a list of products expected to fly off the shelves over the winter period with strong demand predicted for smart tech devices.
The list of most sought after products include Fitbit, Apple Watch and Samsung Gear VR, as well as connected coffee machine Nespresso Prodigio and smart toy Orbotix Sphere Ollie.
The Internet of Things (IoT) has gained significant retail attention over the last year with Dixons Carphone particularly keen to cash in on this new market.
The high street giant recently introduced VR demonstration zones with CEO Seb James hailing ‘canny customers’ for demanding more tech and services from the brand. James has previously predicted that 2016 will be the year the connected space takes centre stage.
Speaking exclusively to Mobile in June, he warned the industry to roll with the punches as consumer appetitie shifted towards VR and IoT.
‘We have changed and will change much more,’ James said. ‘For customers, it is no longer about stuff. It is about connected stuff - that is working - and has great content. It is about finding somebody that you trust to make that happen and save you both time and money. We are in a unique position to deliver this and I think that in a decade our business will look completely different.’
