Samsung launches Note 7 exchange programme
Samsung has launched a Galaxy Note 7 product exchange programme for customers in the UK & Ireland.
The announcement follows a turbulent week for Samsung during which the manufacturer was forced to suspend all sales of its flagship device after finding evidence of faulty batteries.
Samsung issued a full recall after confirming there had been 35 cases where the handset batteries exploded and launched an investigation in ‘battery cell issues’.
The brand has since urged all customers in possession of a Note 7 to return the device for a replacement. The new exchange programme has been set up in order to aid this with exchanges to begin from 19th September.
Conor Pierce, Vice President of IT & Mobile of Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, said: ‘The safety and satisfaction of customers is our top priority and by working closely with our partners and operators, we are taking a proactive approach to address the needs of Galaxy Note7 customers in the UK. We are encouraging customers to exchange their Galaxy Note7 by taking advantage of the Product Exchange Programme.’
