EE stores trial live VR football from BT Sport

Four flagship EE stores will trial a live virtual reality football broadcast on BT Sport this weekend.

The match between London clubs Arsenal and Chelsea will be filmed by the brands owners BT in VR. The VR experience will be available to fans at stores in Westfield Stratford, Oxford Street, Marble Arch and Tottenham Court Road.

BT Sport explained that it had collaborated with VR platform company LiveLike using Virtual Reality (VR) cameras. Fans will be able to choose from four different viewpoints, including a pitch-side perspective and sitting in the crowd.

Marc Allera, EE CEO, said: ‘We know that our customers love watching sport on the go and that’s why they love the fact they can now enjoy the BT Sport app as part of their EE plan.  This fantastic VR trial of BT Sport in four flagship London stores is yet another example of the additional benefits and unique experiences our customers will enjoy now we are part of the wider BT Group.’
