Following the launch of the Cloud SIM app which allows users to link up to five telephone numbers to their single smartphone, Cloud SIM’s developers have been discussing marketing plans with travel agents.
The company proposes that travel agents promote the app as an add-on when selling holiday packages. With the Cloud SIM app, available for Android and iOS devices, users can make and receive calls and messages on flights, and can use tablets to make and receive calls.
The app uses VoIP calling technology, but also has a local access option when no WIFI or mobile data allowance is available. This allows calls to be placed through a local number, without using data. Cloud SIM also has an in-flight feature allowing the user to make and receive calls through in-flight WiFi, provided by airlines such as Emirates.
The Cloud SIM solutions are aimed at customers who need to take their business calls on holiday, and offer competitive calling rates to UK mobiles and landlines from 1p per minute. This avoids the necessity of arranging roaming packages prior to holidays.
Cloud SIM is currently offering a one-month free number for new customers, and the app is available free from the iOS App Store and Google Play.
