Samsung’s Galaxy A series mid-range smartphones are now available to buy in the UK. There are two variants, the A3 and A5, sharing styling and new features including an enhanced camera.
The Galaxy A Series feature enhanced front and rear cameras with improved autofocus and low-light performance, a metal frame, 3D glass back, enhanced battery life, and fast charging on the A5. IP68 water and dust resistance is offered for the first time, and other features include an HD Super AMOLED display (4.7” on the A3, 5.2” on the A5), Android 6.0.16 (Marshmallow) operating system, 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage (A5) or 2GB RAM + 16GB Storage (A3), and 1.9GHz Octa Core processor (A5) or 1.6GHz Octa Core processor (A3).
UK consumers can buy the Galaxy A3 and A5 through Samsung’s online store (priced £369 for A5, and £279 for A3), as well as from selected carrier and retail partners. The A Series models are available to buy in four colours including Black Sky, Gold Sand, and Blue Mist, with a Peach Cloud version exclusive to Carphone Warehouse.
Carphone Warehouse offers the Samsung A3 with 3GB data for free at £25.99 per month on EE, and the Samsung A5 with 3GB data at the upfront cost of £69.99 on EE for £25.99 per month. The Samsung A5 is also available for free from £27.50 a month with 500mb of data.
CPW is offering its price matching promise to any new or upgrading customer who finds a better deal from either O2, Vodafone or EE on a Pay monthly or SIM Only plan, and also has a range of compatible accessories including the Samsung Neon Flip Case, available at £24.99.
Vodafone customers can currently benefit from the Data Extravaganza deal which offers 24GB of UK data for the price of 6GB, so the Galaxy A5 costs £32 per month (£10 upfront cost) which includes unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 24GB of UK data and 2GB of inclusive roaming data.
