Huawei’s Honor 6X handset goes on sale today following its launch at CES, however the price has fallen over £25 from its £224.99 original price to £199 at Three.
The latest instalment in Honor’s X series follows last year’s Honor 5X which was stocked exclusively at Three, however this year’s device is also available online at Carphone Warehouse who have a grey colour exclusive. On Huawei’s vMall site, the device costs £224.
Commenting on the pricing and the device, Honor UK marketing manager Wilkin Lee stated, ‘I’m excited that the Honor 6X is now available from Three in the UK, our exclusive tariffs partners, making the amazing Honor 6X even more accessible to our fans.’
The devices features a 5.5”FHD screen, a dual rear camera set-up and a Huawei manufactured Kirin 655 chipset. Targeting the younger audience, Huawei hopes previous partnerships with Marvel’s Dr Strange release and Brooklyn Beckham will have the same impact as their Scarlet Johansen and Henry Cavill had on their flagship P series.
In an earlier interview with Mobile Magazine, UK consumer MD of Huawei James Jie stated that these endorsement deals helped in widening their retail distribution channels, stating this was achieved ‘through the strength of the devices we’ve developed and the strength of our marketing partnerships with Scarlett Johansson and Henry Cavill for instance.’
