iD Mobile has announced a range of new tariffs which give users an extra 10GB of data to use across a 24 month contract, as part of what Carphone Warehouse calls a ‘Data Cushion.’
Aiming to ensure customers don’t get caught short of data or get charged out of bundle rates, the 10GB can be accessed at any point by those taking up the new two year, 2GB per month contracts.
The new deals currently only include handset inclusive tariffs, with devices ranging from the cheapest at £17.99 per month (iPhone 5s 16GB) to the most expensive at £41.99 per month (iPhone 7 Plus 32GB).
The Data Cushion feature replaces the MVNO’s Data Rollover feature, which still exists on other tariffs. According to iD, the new deals address, ‘a real pain point’, which they discovered through research and an initial trial earlier this year.
iD Mobile GM Adam Dunlop described the new 2GB 24 month plans stating, ‘At iD Mobile we are always looking for new ways to meet our customers’ needs and offer genuine value. Data Cushion is a direct result of talking to customers and listening to their worries about increasing data usage and unexpected bills. Data usage is increasing at a phenomenal rate and we know that our customers want the freedom to use their data without the stress of out of bundle charges. Data Cushion is an innovative way to prevent bill shock and provide customers with greater control.’
iD Mobile is a Dixons Carphone ran MVNO on Three’s network. Earlier this year iD passed the 500,000 subscriber mark, with Dixons Carphone CEO Seb James telling Mobile that the next target would be one million.
