New Chocolate delayed?
LG may hold off launching the KV6000 Chocolate, part of its black label series, until early next year.
UK sales director John Barton said LG is considering delaying the launch whilst it concentrates on marketing the KG800 as its big Christmas handset. The move could mean the KG800, together with the white and pink colour variants, could be the only LG Chocolate handset to reach the UK this year.
LG had originally planned to launch the KV6000, which will also carry the Chocolate brand, before the end of 2006. 'We are deciding whether to launch it to try and get the Christmas market, or after. We think the [KG800] is going to take a massive slice of the Christmas market, so do we really want to take away from that?' Barton said.
The KV6000 will have improved specifications when it reaches the UK. It will have a 2 megapixel camera, an improvement the 1.3 megapixel version the Korean version sports. The gold trimmed version has been selling well in Korea but the phone may launch here with a silver trim instead.
