T-Mobile's Sidekick Slide
The result of T-Mobile's collaboration with Motorola, the Sidekick Slide, was unveiled today. The handset, which is due for release in the UK in November, is billed as 'the perfect companion for a busy social life'.
The Sidekick Slide is aimed squarely at 'girls and guys about town' that want to 'keep up with the gossip and goings on while on the move'.
With a sliding screen, which moves to the side to reveal a QWERTY keypad, it also has a trackball to help instant messaging and internet browsing on the go. A 1.3-megapixel camera is also included, along with an MP3 player.
Daniel Meredith, head of handset and device marketing for T-Mobile, said: 'The T-Mobile Sidekick Slide is the ultimate handset for people who want the freedom to email or IM mates, update their profile on Facebook or to surf the internet the way they like.'
A new feature, provided by software partner Danger, is the automatic back-up of all the data on the handset that means contacts, photos and music tracks can all be accessed via a website.
The handset will be exclusive to T-Mobile stores for six months, and will be free on Flext 30 contracts or higher.
