Obsession launches pricey luxury phones
With a price tag that makes the cost of an iPhone look like peanuts, a new luxury handset has been launched in the UK.
Manufacturer Obsession has released the device in two colour schemes: one made from 18-carat white gold and the other from 24-carat yellow gold, costing £1,199 and £1,399 respectively.
The handcrafted phone comes in a crocodile skin case with a re-enforced combination lock and velvet interior, and is encrusted with 2.1-carat cultured diamonds.
Its screen is built using a re-enforced sapphire crystal glass exterior, which is intended to reduce scratches and blemishes.
The manufacturer claims that the full grain leather on the handset will develop a natural 'patina' and look more beautiful over time.
A spokesman said: 'We're the only telecommunications company in the UK that is a member of the British Jewellers Association, and what's also important is that we're British!'
