Mobile is delighted to unveil the brand new ‘Mobiletoday’ website, which goes live today (Friday 30 November).
A lot of changes have been made from the old home, with a new cleaner look and lots of new areas to keep our readers up to date with the latest news, views, analysis and information on the UK mobile phone industry.
The thinking behind the revamp has been to build a site that does more than simply transfer coverage from our award-winning hardcopy magazine to our website.
David Nunn, editor-in-chief of Mobile, said: ‘We have a very large and loyal readership online, and we’ve learnt a lot on what people want from us online, and how they want that delivered. We’re still learning, but this is a massive step.’
We will have even more breaking news, but one of the big new areas will be a dedicated place to see charts and information that show how the mobile market is moving. You can find the information under the ‘Data and Trends’ tab. We’ve been able to this by securing exclusive information from GfK, GSM Exchange as well as our very own Mobile Tracker, which pulls sales statistics from the big mobile retailers.
Another big change you will notice is the introduction of new videos on our site. We will feature handset reviews, interviews, early footage of upcoming advertising campaigns as well as giving you a peak into the big industry events and conferences.
There will also be more analysis and comment through a new blogging section where you can have your say.
We have built on our pioneering Retailer Review section to provide even more reviews on the latest phones. The gloves will be off here, as the individuals who know more about phones tell us how good they are, how well they’re selling and whether there are lots being returned!
Sitting alongside our reviews will be news and information on the handsets in the market.
We are all very excited about our new site here at Mobile and Mobiletoday, and we hope our loyal readers like the changes we’ve made. We’ve been working hard to make sure we can make changes in time for our launch date, but we expect there to be a few glitches and hiccups, so please bear with us as we continue to make a few home improvements.
As ever, your feedback is invaluable, so let us know what you think of the changes we’ve made to your site.
